(Attributed to). Northeast view of the first great synagogue in Stuttgart, Hospitalstraße. 1861. Albumen print. 14,2 x 11,4 cm. Mounted to original board (slightly soiled, some edge wear).
The great synagoge in Stuttgart was designed by Gustav Breymann and executed by Adolf Wolff from 1858 - 1861. This image shows the new building after its completion in 1861 (consecrated May 3, 1861). This is probably the only known photograph taken of the synagogue during this early time. - Small rubbed spot upper right and light impression mark upper left, otherwise a strong print in good condition.
