Photographer unknown. Portraits of geisha and views of landscapes of Japan. 1880s/90s. 50 hand-colored albumen prints. Each circa 14 x 9 cm and 9 x 14 cm. Some prints with number in the negative in lower corners, each mounted to album boards (slightly warped, time-stained in edges, some slightly soiled), bound as a leporello in red lacquer album (some scuff marks, chips in corners) with inlay genre scene on cover and painted ornaments on back.
Includes the portrait "Officer's Daughter" (attributed to A. Farsari, Stillfried and Kusakabe - soiled). - Prints towards front and back slightly soiled, some faded, especially in edges, some surface scuffing, otherwise many in good condition.
