Alpine views. 1930s. 2 vintage brown-toned gelatin silver prints. Both circa 17,7 x 23,5 cm. Both signed and titled by the photographer in ink in lower corners; each with number stamp and Photographische Werkstätte Emanuel Gyger, Adelboden printed on the verso.
Arnold Klopfenstein started an apprenticeship with Emanuel Gyger in 1914, eventually becoming his business partner in 1928. He was a trained mountaineer and often took longer hikes with E. Gyger, on which he made his picturesque alpine views. Klopfenstein and Gyger worked together very closely and their images are often indistinguishable from one another. - One with creases in upper right and lower left corners, otherwise beautiful rich brown prints, one in near excellent condition (illustrated).
