Both annotated in ink/pencil on the verso.These interesting and rare images show Joris Ivens, Ernest Hemingway and Ludwig Renn in 1937 at the Madrid front near Brighuega during the Spanish Civil War. They were promotional photos for the British propaganda film "The Spanish Earth" (directed by J. Ivens). Hemingway wrote the screenplay and worked closely together with Ludwig Renn, a highly respected officer in the Spanish Civil War and chief of the XI International Brigade. - Corners slightly bumped, one with light retouching for publication in upper portion, otherwise in good condition.
