With his project "Menschen des 20. Jahrhunderts" (People of the 20th Century), August Sander set out to portray the general character of the German people at the beginning of the 20th century. This image is part of group VI, "Die Großstadt: Fahrendes Volk - Zigeuner und Landstreicher" (The City: Travelling People - Gypsies and Tramps). - Two handling crease marks in left portion, otherwise in very good condition.
