This image shows workers at the foot of the Lysjoch carrying material for the construction of the shelter Capanna Regina Margherita which was finished in 1893 and located at Punta Gnifetti, Vercelli in the Italian Alps. Initially it was built for research purposes, but gradually also became a shelter for mountaineers. In 1980 a more modern hut was built which holds up to 70 people and is operated from June to mid September. - A few small retouched spots, minimal spot in right mountain area, traces of light surface rubbing more visible at an angle, paper time-stained in edges on verso, otherwise in very good condition.
