Private souvenir WWII album of a German soldier with images of Poland, France and the Ukraine. 1939-41. Circa 168 gelatin contact silver prints. Circa 9 x 6 cm and 6 x 9 cm. Each mounted to album page (some with signs of use and torn out photos), some in photo corners, some glued and annotated in white ink in German below the image on the mount, bound in contemporary leather album with chord binding.
Extensive private snapshot album showing various war events beginning in Poland, with pictures of citizens being harrased by the occupying forces, images of destruction, wounded soldiers, destroyed weapons, prisoners of war, some annotated with derogatory and ironic remarks by the compiler. - A few faded or with spots, otherwise most in very good condition.
