Newcomb Pottery landscape vase encircled by a scene showing moss laden oak trees beneath a large full moon. Impressed with the Newcomb symbol, the date code for 1932, shape 500, the initials of potter Kenneth Smith and impressed Iris Council 1934. No artist mark is visible although it is obvious that the vessel was decorated by a skilled artist. There is a mostly intact original label, 1 3/8 inches square, which may have been applied over an artist mark. In excellent, original condition. Height is 5 1/2 inches by 6 3/4 inches in diameter. The label shows the original price to have been $10.00, which seems to have been a bargain even during the Depression.
