Elephant compote, a William McDonald design, cast in 1922 and covered with the Ivory Mat Glaze on the exterior and lined in gloss green. Impressed with the Rookwood insignia, the date and shape 2512. Uncrazed and in excellent, original condition. This version, the larger design, features two elephants while the later, smaller, version features three. Size is 12 inches by 16 1/4 inches.
