Stunning Sea Green vase decorated with black rooks flying around the shoulder of the vase with what appears to be rays descending from the rim, the work of Olga Geneva Reed in 1898. Impressed with the Rookwood symbol, which indicates the date, and shape 745 B and incised with a G to indicate the Sea Green Glaze and with Ms. Reeds monogram. In wonderful, original condition with fine, light crazing. In Stanley Burts 2292 Pieces of Early Rookwood Pottery in the Cincinnati Art Museum in 1916, item 131 in the 1898 listing is for a Sea Green vase, shape 745 B, by O.G.R. Height is 7 7/8 inches.
