Description
PILLAR-MOLDED AND PRESSED VASE OR CELERY GLASS, colorless, deep bowl with 12 ribs swirled to the right and a gauffered 12-petal rim, raised on an applied pressed hexagonal faceted stem stepped to a circular foot with concentric rings underneath, wafer construction. Probably Pittsburgh area. 1850-1875. 10 3/8" H, 5" D rim, 4 3/8" D foot.
Literature: See Wilson - American Glass, vol. 1, p. 462, fig. 741 for a similar vase having a blown-molded diamond pattern on the bowl.
