Japanese shinto katana (sword), nagasa (length of blade): 27.825in/70.8cm; with an apocryphal inscription Nagasone Okisato nyudo Kotetsu on the omote, and on ura the date of Kanbun kyunen nigatsu kichinichi (1669.2); sugata (configuration): shinogi-zukuri, iori-mune, short-ish kissaki, Kanbun-style; hamon (tempering pattern): chu-suguha, rich in nie; boshi (tip): broad komaru; nakago (tang): single hole; condition: 'wari', some 'blisters', relatively healthy. Koshirae (mountings/fittings): 20th century military leather sheath over a roiro saya (scabbard) [incomplete]; tsuka (handle) only same (rayskin) remaining, lacking tsukamaki and fittings
