Ottoman Silk Embroidery - 18th c, silk floss on cotton, three panels sewn together, excellent condition, minor stains. Sewn on the back is a blue cloth label: "First Prize 1935 Powel House Exhibition of Needlework, Philadelphia" Additionally, there is a paper exhibitor label: "Rhodes Tapestry, 18th century or earlier. Exhibitor: Mrs Richard Waln Meirs" On the reverse is written the note: "For Mrs John C Martin, Chairman, Powel House Exhibit, John Wanamaker Store" Dimensions: 3'9" x 6'11" (114cm x 211cm)
