Walder Sandberg (Detroit, Michigan, 1881-1968) full figured carved little girl startled by the large beetle which has landed on her stomach, leaning against carved tree trunk which forms the stem of the lamp. Carved from a single piece of wood. Walder Sandberg wood carver, immigrated from Sweden and settled in Detroit. He was a noted local wood carver and cabinet maker, with his work represented in the Henry Ford Museum Collections. Descended from the family. One chip to finger, otherwise good condition. Overall height 24".
