AN ANTIQUE OIL ON CANVAS IN GILT FRAME
19th Century
The painting depicts two boys fishing on a river. Although the canvas faintly says ""John Constable 1870"" to the reverse, the painting is not signed and does not resemble this artists work. The gilt frame is a good reproduction as is evident from the backside.
Condition; Fair,with craquelure throughout, stretcher marks, some flaking, light overpaint of the figures, with thin spots to background areas from previous cleaning. The frame is in good condition with cracking and some small missing chip./ pieces to one corner. 15½ x 23½ inches
