Description

American Revolution
Choice “USA” Continental Army Soldier Pewter Button
c. 1775 Revolutionary War Period. American Continental Army “USA” Design. Soldier’s Pewter Button. 18mm Size. Reeded Border/Plain Back. Design of Albert GI 2v. Troiani AUSA.sb. Lacking shank. Extremely Fine.
This original Revolutionary War Pewter Button has the famous “USA” design to its face and has a partial, broken shank attached on the back. It measures about .75" (18mm) in diameter. There is only some light wear from actual use to the face surface, yet it has no chipping or tinpest whatsoever with full outer rims intact. What appears to be a crack at center is actually extra pewter from a mold die crack within the button, as made. A superior, very nicely detailed example of this historic, classic “USA” design Enlisted Man’s Pattern Continental Army Button.
