RARE SIGNED BENNINGTON FLINT ENAMEL LION. Very fine example facing right on a base with tongue up and molded mane. See plate 377, top left, in Barret. Glaze has good colors including amber with dark blue on the base. Base has Type A impressed mark for "Lyman Fenton & Co....1849 Bennington, Vt." Small 1/2"l. filled in flake on the mane. 11"l. 9"h.
