Gilt highlighting on shoulder straps, buttons, buckle, sword and band at the base of his hat. Nice painted backdrop. Very fine quality, pristine condition. Housed in a mint brown geometric/floral thermoplastic case.; Early war sixth plate ambrotype of a Federal officer. On clear glass and vignetted. Wears frock coat with shoulder straps, belt with two piece buckle, Hardee hat with officer's embroidered insignia on the front on the table at his side. Holds eaglehead straight sword with chain guard. Buttons, sword, buckle and hat cord all highlighted with gilt. Wears kepi with 71 and H clearly visible on the front. Shell jacket with shoulder tabs and standup collar with white buff belt with separately applied 71 on the rectangular brass plate.
