Description

Imperial Russian 97th Infantry Regiment Spiked Helmet. Tall black polished leather body and visors with brass flaming bomb "spike", cruciform base and rear trim. Leather-backed convex silver chinscales. Silvered front plate with the Russian two-headed eagle and regimental number "97" applied in German silver at the bottom of the plate. Large black and red cockade on the right side. Remnants of leather sweatband. The helmet body is smooth with a few areas of crazing to the finish. The rear visor has been crudely reattached. Small dent in top of the helmet, otherwise in good condition.
