A Platinum, Sapphire and Diamond Floral Brooch, Tiffany & Co.,
containing one cushion shape brilliant cut sapphire weighing approximately 1.44 carats total, one cushion shape brilliant cut sapphire weighing approximately 2.32 carats, one cushion shape brilliant cut sapphire weighing approximately 3.36 carats, 103 round brilliant cut diamonds weighing approximately 4.01 carats total and 74 baguette cut diamonds weighing approximately 5.92 carats total.

Provenance:
The brooch presented here was bequeathed to the present owner by her late relative Mary Marvin Breckinridge Patterson (1905-2002). Ms. Breckinridge Patterson's paternal great grandfather was John C. Breckinridge, vice president under James Buchanan, and her grandfather was B.F. Goodrich, founder of the eponymous company. As a cinematographer Ms. Breckinridge Patterson was honored by the American Film Institute for her black and white silent film, "The Forgotten Frontier", regarding frontier nurses. As a journalist, she broadcast from Berlin with Edward R. Murrow on the lead up to World War II. As a devoted philanthropist, Ms. Breckinridge Patterson was a significant supporter of women's rights and of the arts.
