Late Federal Period Coin Silver Tea Service
circa 1820, three piece set includes a teapot (9.5 in.) and cream jug by J. B. Jones of Boston and a double handled sugar bowl with cover by Fletcher & Gardiner of Philadelphia. Each piece with acanthus motif border to rim and standard, the bodies with chased and stippled naturalistic foliate decoration to bodies, the covers both with pomegranate form finials. All pieces monogrammed "W-M."

The firm of Fletcher & Gardiner was featured in an 2007-2009 exhibition presented by Winterthur titled "Silversmiths To The Nation: Thomas Fletcher And Sidney Gardiner: 1808-1842."
