E. Whitney Civil War Musket 1833. This muzzle loader was produced in the U. S. by E. Whitney, and is stamped ~New Haven 1833~. The trigger and hammer work smoothly with two stops. The sling brackets, trigger guard, and butt plate are all present and intact, and the tamping rod is present. It also has the original mahogany stock. There is an ~L~ stamped just ahead of the sling bracket, as well as on the side. This may stand for an initial of the inspector of this firearm. From end to end, this musket measures approximately 50inches
