George Washington (1732-1799). Partially printed document, oblong octavo, signed, Go. Washington, as Commander in Chief of the Armies of the United States. Headquarters, April 1783. A military discharge for Lieutenant Robert Line, Invalid regiment, in which Washington certifies that Line is discharged from service on account of a broken leg. Countersigned by Jonathan Trumbull, Jr., Military Secretary, and Jonathan Pugh, Adjutant. Accompanied by Charles Hamilton Autographs Inc. letter of authenticity, dated June 21, 1957.
Heavy wear to document; with separation along folds; some loss to "G" as a result to loss at fold; scattered staining to document.
