Very good in price clipped dj with darkening to dj’s spine, some dusting, losses near dj’s spine ends, and lighter edge chipping elsewhere. 1st edition, 2nd state (“H-C” on c-page). Upper corner of ffep signed and inscribed “To Nancy – Merry Christmas, 1945/ Jimmy Thurber” with a small sketch of a dog’s head. ++ The Thurber Carnival. Harper & Brothers, (1945). Very good in very good dj, dj lightly dust soiled, tiny chip at top of dj’s spine. Unpriced dj. On c-page: “…manufactured in strict conformity with government regulations for saving paper.” ++ The Middle-Aged Man On The Flying Trapeze. Harper & Brothers, 1935. Illustrated beige cloth stamped in blue. Near fine, a few page corners bumped. Edges of dj frayed, front flap fold nearly separated, “$3.00” dj price intact.
