Chto ty sdelal dlya bolshikh Sovetskikh perelyotov? [What Is Your Contribution to the Soviet Big Flights Program?], an aviation propaganda poster by an anonymous artist. Published by Aviakhim Society, Moscow, 1926, 35.5 x 23.5 cm.
In 1925, Soviet officials established a Committee on Big Flights, charged with the task of organizing international long distance flights that would secure the Soviet Unions status as one of the leaders in the field of civil aviation. Buoyed by the success of the Great Flight of 1925 from Moscow to Peking, the Committee developed a rather ambitious international flights program for 1926. Aviakhim, the voluntary mass organization of the Friends of Soviet Aviation, provided much of the required financing.
A great memento of aviations heroic era, when long-distance flyers were more popular then movie stars. This posters potential interest is to a much broader audience than just Russian posters collectors.
