Late 19th century, the case probably German, signed to backplate of movement ''LFS'' (Lorenz Furtwangler & Sohne), the case apparently unsigned, the circular gilt and silvered dial with black Arabic numeral markers, enclosed within a square hood with a glazed door beneath an arched pediment centering a shell, over an open gallery exposing pendulum and weights suspended between turned baluster supports, on an outset square base raised on bun feet, 90'' H x 26.5'' W x 15.5'' D, est:$800/1200.
Provenance: Estate Glendale, CA. Condition: Good condition overall. General marks, scratches and rubbing to surfaces commensurate with age and use. Typical shrinkage cracks and scattered nicks and chips. A deeper shrinkage crack to door extending from bottom edge to aperture. A loss to volute of Ionic capital on left of base. Movement original and complete. Not in running condition. Moran's does not guarantee running condition of clocks and watches.
