Porter, with bust of Wellington on obverse, with the legend England's Great Captain Arthur Duke of Wellington, the reverse with the Angel of Victory holding a tablet inscribed Record of British Valour, above Picture Medal, this opening to reveal The Battles of The British Army in Portugal, Spain and France From the Year 1804 to 1814, presented in a series of 12 original hand-coloured aquatint discs of battle scenes, with an additional one of the Battle of Waterloo, each with text description verso, engraved title panels inset within each half of the medal, 1815, the discs each 65mm. diameter (2 5/8 in), the medal approx 75mm. diameter (2 7/8 in), preserved within its original circular red leather case, fastened with two clips, the upper embossed Record of British Valour, the case approx 85mm. diameter (3 3/8 in).
