FINE SHENANDOAH VALLEY OF VIRGINIA FEDERAL WALNUT STEP-BACK CORNER CUPBOARD, in two sections, the upper section featuring a delicate cove-molded cornice above a figured, banded frieze and two eight-pane doors enclosing three fixed shelves, the lower section featuring a slightly protruding waist with applied edge moldings above two fielded-panel doors, the whole raised on tall flaring French feet. Both sections of case with chamfered corners, straight-back returns, and beaded back boards, top with plate grooves. Yellow pine secondary wood, interior never painted. Late 18th/early 19th century. 90" H, 50 3/4" W, 26" D, 34" corner.

Excellent condition, several small patched/filled holes in door stiles covering previous hardware, narrow strip added to edge of one lower panel to compensate for shrinkage.
