AMERICAN FEDERAL INLAID MAHOGANY CARD TABLE, demi-lune form with hinged top, raised on four square tapered legs, one of which swivels to support the top. Legs with broad-leaf vine inlays, additional banded and string inlays. Yellow pine, white pine and oak secondary woods. Family tradition suggests a Baltimore origin. Late 18th/early 19th century. 28 3/4" H, 17 1/2" x 17 1/2", 35" D open.
Provenance: Property of a South Carolina family.
Fair as-found condition, tops with cracking and chipping to veneers, some losses to bandings, loss to leg cuffs.
