GERMANIC TRIBES (1st-3rd Century) SCHAGEN NETHERLANDS FOUND AUG. 1993. Original hand scribed identification accompanying 11 excavated pottery fragments from at least three vessels. Largest, a nicely crenellated edge from a jar, about 4 1/2". Average about 2" - 2 1/2". Period of the Germanic challenges to the Roman Empire which eventually resulted in their population of Medieval Europe. Untouched with soil adhesion, removal of which possibly will reveal interesting detail. 11 pieces.
