A COMPANION PAIR OF MEISSEN STYLE PORCELAIN FIGURES ON GILT BRONZE BASES
19th Century
The porcelain figures of a young man playing bag pipes and a maiden playing a portable barrel organ, both dressed in 18th Century garb and raised scroll forms with gilt edges. Both figures later raised on pierced gilt bronze scrollwork. Male is stamped with ""M: 1551, D"" and bears the cobalt crossed swords; Female is stamped with ""5521, H"" and also bears the cobalt glazed crossed swords.
Very good condition.
15 x 7 x 7 inches (38.1 x 17.7 x 17.7 cm).
Two pieces total.
