Rare “GERMANIA LAGER” Tin
Advertising Sign

c. 1880s, Early “Germania Lager Beer Brewing Co.,” Tin Advertising Sign, Syracuse, NY, Very Fine.
31.5” x 21.75”, gilt printed image on black painted tin sheet, trimmed corners and edges. Featuring a “Valkyrie” dressed in flowing robes, holding a long sword and hoisting aloft a laurel wreath, while standing on a rocky ledge next to a large eagle. Very heroic imagery, framed by large “GERMANIA / LAGER BEER” titles at top and bottom. Image is very sharp and clear, although the sign is slightly battered with scratches and dents as would be expected. Portions of the face and some of the lettering have been retouched, but practically all of the original paint is intact. A very Rare find!
