Chinese polychrome enamel decorated stick-neck vase, Republic period, the globular body painted in bright enamels with celestial children playing on a garden terrace, all framed by ruyi-head and jeweled lappet band below stylized lotus on the yellow-enameled neck with further patterned border bands, the base with an apocryphal Qianlong mark in red enamel on a turquoise-glazed ground, wear to base and slight spotting with age, 19.5"h, 19.25lbs total Start Price: $800.00 **Provenance: From the estate of Capt. Glen B. Butler, USN, who served in Nagoya, Japan in the early 1950's and in Taipei, Taiwan in the late 1950's. All the pieces in his collection where purchased during those two duty periods.
