Daguerreotype of Confederate soldier John Medlin in Union frame with documentation. Medlin, from Fairmont, Georgia, was a lieutenant in the Seminole and Mexican War, Captain in the Confederacy and trained new recruits in Kennesaw, Georgia. Frame measures 3.9 by 3.2 by 0.6 when closed, image measures 2 by 2.5 inches and appears to be a ninth plate. Documents included with the pieces include tax documents dating from 1890 to 1922. Front of frame is no longer attached to back, overall in very good condition.
