18th Century Chinese Qing Dynasty gilt gold bronze figure; featuring Medicine Buddha, Bhaishajiyaguru; The figure is seated in dhyanasana on a double lotus pedestal base, one hand in varada mudra and the other in Dhyanamudra, the hair arranged in small whorls surrounding the urna, the face modeled with eyes downcast and the lips slightly indented to give a smiling expression, framed on either side with pendulous ears, dressed in a robe draped loosely across one side of the shoulder revealing the bare torso; incised designs on base; H: 12.75 cm, 531 grams
