The noted French poet Charles Baudelaire spoke highly of Guys, and called him the "painter of modern life." He painted in a realism that captured personality as well. His work can be found in many museums and private collections worldwide, including the Art Institute of Chicago, The Harvard University Art Museum, and the Louvre in Paris. *
