The Craft Of Hand Enameling Coins Red Its Peak During The Reign Of Queen Victoria. During Her Golden Jubilee In 1887 Thousands Of Coins Were Elaborately Enameled For Use In Brooches, Stickpins And Cufflinks. The Enamel Usually Followed The Outline Of The Coin Design, With Color Applied In Individual Layers. The Process Was Complicated And Time Consuming, And Few Of These Coins Have Survived. This 1836 Silver Sixpence Is A Beautiful Example Of This Long Lost Craft. We Have Set The Coin In A 14Kt Yellow Gold Frame. You Can Style At Checkout. This Is A Wonderful Piece Of An Early British History Which Comes With A Descriptive Card About The History Of Enameled Coins. Metal: 14Kt Yellow Gold Frame - Measures:.75" Diameter
