974 BEATTY WILLIAM: (1773-1842) Irish Surgeon with the Royal Navy, served as Ship's Surgeon on HMS Victory at the Battle of Trafalgar, witnessing the death of Lord Nelson. A.N.S., Wm. Beatty, on one side of his personal visiting card, Greenwich Hospital, n.d. (dated in pencil 1839 in another hand). Beatty writes, in full, 'Admit Mr. Bush to the Nelsonian Models'. Slight traces of former mounting and annotations in two unidentified hands to the verso. About VG
