A silver Inkstand,George III, Mark of Samuel Whitford, London 1811,oblong and on four scroll feet, with two pen rests and reeded supports for the five silver mounted glass bottles, one broken, four covers engraved with a crest one cover further engraved inside "Willm Peters," marked underneath on two rims and inside one cover, 11 3/4" (29.7cms) long; weighable silver 31ozs, 13dwt (984g). (1)Provenance: The crest is that of Peters, almost certainly for a son of the attorney at law William Peters (d 1807) whose family tomb bearing this crest is recorded in St. Andrews Church, Newgate Street, Newcastle-Upon-Tyne.
