Flying Broadbill Hen

This half-bodied duck model displays exceptional blended painted feather detail, with a comb painted back, a gently curved wing, incised bill and tail carving, and an eye groove. On the back is a hand-crafted copper hanger and "Female Broadbill" written in script.

Provenance: Joel Barber Collection Private Collection, Greenwich, Connecticut gifted to Connecticut Audubon Society Private Collection, Cambridge, Massachusetts

Condition

Original paint with an age line at the body seam, an age crack at the wing edge, a minor tail chip, a few small dents, and one-third of the foot missing.
