1939 WORLD’S FAIR MICKEY’S SURPRISE PARTY PRODUCTION CEL AND PRODUCTION BACKGROUND - In 1939, the Disney Studio created an animated short for the Nabisco Company to be shown at the 1939 World’s Fair. Titled Mickey’s Surprise Party, it was the first animated production to feature the “revised” modern version of Mickey Mouse that we know today. Mickey’s features were rounded a bit, but most importantly, he was given new eyes and pupils with white around them to help show more emotion. An extremely rare set-up featuring untrimmed 10 in. x 12 in. cels and background. Mickey’s image size is 4 in. x 5 in.
