14KT White Gold 26.50tcw Graduated Tanzanite and Diamond Necklace A3997. Excellent Condition! ZZ4991DE. One electronically tested 14KT white gold ladies cast & assembled graduated tanzanite and diamond necklace with a bright polish finish. Condition is new, good workmanship. Seventeen inch length necklace composed of a flexible graduating ribbon of tanzanite’s terminating in a concealed clasp with safety. Identified with markings of “14K”. Containing: Forty-nine prong set oval mixed cut natural tanzanite’s, measuring 6.50 x 4.50 x 2.93mm, approximate total weight of 26.50ct, clarity is eye clean, type I, medium dark, moderately strong, bluish violet color, (GIA Bv 6/4) to medium dark, moderately strong, bluish purple, (GIA Bv 6/4), cut is good. Transmitting light with no distortion, transparent. Measurements are and average for the group. Graded in the setting. Tanzanite is a very rare gemstone that is only found in the country of Tanzania. Originally discovered in 1967. Tiffany & Company, named the stone Tanzanite. It is found in the Usumburu Mountains that border the Umba Valley of northern Tanzania. Tanzanite occurs in gray, brown, violet, blue, reddish-purple, & green. These gem is interesting because of its exceptional pleochroism. Rotated in different directions a tanzanite will exhibit multiple changes of color. Tanzanite has a low tolerance to ultrasonic cleaning, and should not be cleaned using this method. Forty-nine prong set round brilliant cut diamonds, measuring 2.50 – 1.50 x 1.20mm (depth est.) approximate total weight of 49 Stones = 1.12ct.
