An official poster for the 1964 Tokyo Olympic Games, the primary Rising Sun design by Yusaku Kamekura. multi-colour photogravure, published by the Toppan Printing Co. Ltd., visible image 103 by 53cm., 40 1/2 by 21in., mounted, framed & glazed, very good condition Yusaku Kamekura produced designs for four posters used at the 1964 Games, with this being the primary example with the largest print run of 100,000. Kamekura's work won many awards including the prestigious Milan Poster Design Award. The multi-colour photogravure printing method was also admired for his technical excellence.
