Description
The Eagle of the Sea (Paramount, 1926). One Sheet (27" X 41") Style A.
Ricardo Cortez as Captain Sazarac and Florence Vidor as Louise Lestron (the woman he loves) starred in this swashbuckling tale of piracy and adventure on the high seas. Based on a novel by Charles Tenney Jackson, Sazarac must protect both himself and his beloved from the depredations of Louise's evil uncle (Sam DeGrasse), who plots to embroil England and Spain in a war with Sazarac's help. The film also featured a little known actor, Boris Karloff who was still five years away from creating his legendary monster in Frankenstein. Cortez and Vidor are beautiful together in a soft red wash on this very rare Style A stone litho poster. The piece has been professionally restored to address pinholes in the borders, a tear in the top border into the credits and fold wear. Fine/Very Fine on Linen.
