Audiences were captivated by Elia Kazan's hard-hitting drama about the gritty struggle between oppressive union bosses and the longshoremen of the New York's dockyards. Hailed by critics, the film earned an Oscar for Best Picture, Director, Actor, Actress and Screenplay. To this day, the film is a powerful testament to the talent of Kazan and leading man Marlon Brando. The white areas of the poster have been airbrushed and there is some slight airbrush overspray in the credits and copyright area. There was some minor chipping of paper along the upper vertical fold in Brando's forehead and the fold lines have some minor color touch-up. Fine- on Linen.
