2001: A Space Odyssey (MGM, 1968). Cinerama One Sheet (27" X 41") Style C.
Artist Robert T. McCall had been commissioned by NASA to document the space program's achievements, and so became a logical choice by MGM to design the campaign for 2001: A Space Odyssey. McCall did several posters for the film, but this is by far the rarest. This style C was only used in theaters presenting the film in Cinerama, and since not many theatres were set up for it, these posters were distributed in very small quantities. Prior to restoration there were staple marks in the center of the poster. The poster has also had color touch-up to the fold lines. These minor imperfections do not detract from the desirability this rare piece from one of the most monumental science-fiction films ever made. Very Fine on Linen.
