Description
Casablanca (Warner Brothers, 1942). Half Sheet (22" X 28") Style B.
In one of the most celebrated and adored films of all time, Humphrey Bogart (Rick) and Ingrid Bergman (Ilsa) rekindle a romance amidst political intrigue, corruption, and murder against the war-torn backdrop of Casablanca. The film went on to win the Oscar for Best Picture, Director, and Screenplay. Bogart's exceptional performance earned him a nomination for Best Actor and his improvised line, "Here's looking at you, kid", went on to be voted the #5 best movie quote by the American Film Institute. Offered only once previously by Heritage, this style B half sheet is one of the rarest and most desirable of all the Casablanca posters. It differs greatly from the Style A, featuring not only a beautiful image of Bogart and Bergman, but all the main characters from this classic film. Signs of light handling include edge wear, tiny tears in the right and bottom border with light restoration on the verso, a slight crease in the top right border, small corner bends and a slight scratch in the "b" of the title. Of the three known examples of this poster, this one is by far in the best condition. Rolled, Fine/Very Fine.
