Playboy #3 (HMH Publishing, 1954) CGC VF/NM 9.0 White pages. Founder Hugh Hefner was still wondering whether his new magazine would survive, and the print runs for the earliest issues were necessarily conservative. So, it's something to find a nice copy of the third issue right down to pristine page quality. Marilyn Waltz (as Margaret Scott) centerfold. Features included: Yvonne Menard cover, "Paris Hot Spots" pictorial, Sherlock Holmes' "The Adventure of the Copper Beeches" story by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, "New Cabin" by Erskine Caldwell, "VIP On Likker" by Virgil Partch, and Rocky Marciano photos. CGC census 6/12: 3 in 9.0, 3 higher.
