George V Silverplate Meat Dome and Well-and-Tree Platter, first quarter 20th century, of oval form with gadrooned rim, the dome with gadrooned ring handle, the platter above a hot water reservoir with elaborate beaded acanthus crested handles and flat circular feet en suire, overall h. 15-1/2", l. 22-1/4", w. 17-5/8".
Overall Condition: Good. There is a 1-3/8" diameter area on the dome where the silver has been buffed away revealing the slightly yellowish base metal underneath, and also a very shallow 2-1/2" dent on one end: minor but visible due to the high polish. Otherwise very good, with no condition issues beyond some light scuffs and scrapes. Very nice details on the handles. The threaded plug to the reservoir is frozen, but could probably be loosened with mineral oil; not tested for water-fastness. A very handsome lot.
