Enclosed is a list of Steinway Grand Piano's sketch 493 made in Hamburg from 1910-1920 in different models and finishes. Piano #175499 in Rosewood was made in 1917 and shipped to Gothenburg, Sweden July 20th. There were only 12 of this model made in Rosewood, as you can see. The piano was bought by Mr. Meyer owner of the Grand Hotel, in Stockholm, and kept in his penthouse on top of the Hotel, where a multiple of celebrities - actors and performers world known said to have played the piano. When Mr. / Mrs. Meyer died, their only daughter inherited their two Hotels, with antiques A.S.O. She married a gigolo and they spent it all traveling the world like royalties. Renting apartments in London, Paris, New York, L.A. and other resort places. As the money went, they started borrowing from their celebrity friends leaving their antiques as security. In 1975 I was offered to buy the Steinway from one of their friends who had lent money to them, with thepiano as security more than 20 years ago, the piano was in storage. I owned the largest music store in Stockholm at the time, and we have owned this wonderful instrument since. As we moved to L>A. in 1987 we had the piano restored from minor cosmetic damage from being in storage, by Rolf Kling, Antique renovations. As a Co-Incident Mr. Kling attended a Steinway clinic in Stockholm, and mentioned to the Steinway representative that he had the piano in his shop. When they went to see the piano the representatives reaction was "there it is. We knew the piano was here in Sweden. Now we know for certain". And as stated in the letter I received from Steinway, only a few could still exist , and it would be the only one known, at the time. Please let me know if I can be of further assistance. This is a brand new 2012 model never been in a home. Estimate $60,000 - $80,000 Starting Bid $50,000
